Mission

To strengthen Singapore’s transportation connectivity and to develop the transport sector’s potential to advance our economic competitiveness and the quality of life in Singapore.

Vision

In achieving our mission, we aim to be a pro-active and forward-looking organisation, anticipatory and responsive to the needs of our customers and changes in the environment both domestically and internationally.

Core Corporate Values

To strive to achieve our mission and the organisation we aspire to be, we need our staff to be mission focused, team-oriented, pro-active and knowledgeable. Possession of an inquiring mind - to continuously look for problems and areas for improvement and be able to innovate and seek solutions to them - is key to our goal.

MOT Logo

The MOT logo is symbolic of the Ministry's vision of Singapore as a global transportation hub.

Strategically positioned, Singapore is a premier transportation hub, serving the region and the rest of the world with aviation, maritime, and land links.

The efficiency, vibrancy and progressiveness of Singapore as a transportation hub are represented in the orbit-like effect of the graphic that circles the globe

Blue symbolises the open skies and seas - the arteries through which our air and sea traffic flow.

Grey reflects the land, on which we build our comprehensive network of roads and rail.

Our Organisational Excellence Initiatives

While Singapore has become one of the world's most competitive air and sea hubs, we must recognise the dynamism of the modern economy, brought about by globalisation and technological advances, as well as the importance of retaining our international economic competitiveness.

To compete effectively, we need to continually improve on the hardware and software aspects and be ready to meet present and future challenges in the face of rapid changes in technology and developments in the international arena. We envision MOT as a leading organisation, harnessing advanced technologies and constantly learning and adopting the best practices to enhance our competitive edge so as to successfully bring Singapore to the World and the World to Singapore.

Also important is the ability of MOT to anticipate and respond to the needs of our customers: industries, businesses, the man in the street, other ministries, etc.

MOT's earliest milestone in our journey towards Organizational Excellence was attained when it was awarded ISO 9002 certification on 19 June 2000 . In 2003, we successfully attained certification and conversion to the revised ISO 9001:2000 standard. As part of our continuing efforts to elevate MOT to a higher plane in personnel management, we have also attained the People Developer Award in October 2001. As of October 2003, MOT has also achieved Singapore Quality Class status.
