Acting Minister for Transport Mr Chee Hong Tat to Attend Third International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF/3) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

1.     Acting Minister for Transport, Mr Chee Hong Tat, will lead the Singapore delegation to attend the Third International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels (CAAF/3) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 20 to 21 November 2023. 


2.     The CAAF is one of ICAO’s primary platforms for Member States, industry bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to discuss the decarbonisation of international aviation, particularly the development and deployment of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). The third edition of the conference, CAAF/3, aims to review the 2050 ICAO Vision for SAF and define a global framework for aviation cleaner energy.


3.     At the CAAF/3, Mr Chee will deliver a High-Level Statement on Singapore’s continued commitment to support ICAO in international aviation sustainability and climate action. Mr Chee will also meet ICAO Council President Mr Salvatore Sciacchitano and transport counterparts from ICAO Member States to exchange views to grow international aviation in a sustainable manner. 


4.     Mr Chee will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.
