Applications for Licence to Operate Heavy Vehicle Parking Place

Written Reply to Parliamentary Question 

Mr Ng Shi Xuan asked the Acting Minister for Transport for each year over the past three years,

a.     what is the number of new applications for a licence to operate a heavy vehicle parking place; and

b.     the mean and median processing time for such applications.

Reply by Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow: 

1.     The Land Transport Authority (LTA) received an average about 700 new applications annually to operate private Heavy Vehicle Park over 2022 to 2024. These are not applications for heavy vehicle parking lots, but licences to operate these parking spaces. There are about 2,100 operators currently. Vehicle Parking Certificates are issued by Heavy Vehicle Park operators.

2.     The mean and median processing time for Heavy Vehicle Park applications over the past three years was about two days.
