Written Reply to Parliamentary Question 

Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan asked the Acting Minister for Transport what is the current profile of bus captains across the public transport sector by (i) age (ii) nationality and (iii) highest educational qualification attained.

Reply by Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow: 

1.          Of the 9,900 bus captains today, 30% are aged 40 and below; 57% are between 41 and 60; and 13% are aged above 60. 40% are Singaporean or Permanent Residents; with the rest being Work Permit holders. 85% hold secondary or lower qualifications.
