Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan asked the Acting Minister for Transport as of 31 December 2025, what is the profile of registered private-hire drivers by (i) gender, (ii) age and (iii) highest educational qualification attained.

Reply by Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow:

1.          The average age of the private hire car drivers is 52 years. The majority of them are male, and have secondary level education or below. Less than one-third of all drivers have tertiary education.
