Reply by Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow
1. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and the Public Transport Council (PTC) already work with Public Transport Operators and Social Service Agencies to promote a gracious and caring commuter culture on a continuous basis through the Caring SG Commuter Movement. We put special emphasis on persons using mobility aids, families with children, and persons with special needs. Recent campaigns include raising awareness of the priority boarding doors for trains and the priority queues at lifts, to encourage other commuters to give way to those with greater mobility needs such as wheelchair users or those travelling with children in strollers.
