Ms Yeo Wan Ling asked the Minister for Transport given the Government's push towards electric vehicle (EV) adoption and to support a sustainable transition to EVs, what measures will the Government introduce to help point-to-point EV drivers manage the resulting increase in operating costs due to the projected significant rise in electricity prices from July 2026.
Reply by Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow:
1. To cushion the impact of the energy crisis arising from the Middle East conflict, the Government disbursed a $200 cash relief in May 2026 to active point-to-point transport drivers. This includes those driving electric vehicles.
