1. Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Singapore, and Ambassador Katherine Tai, United States Trade Representative (USTR), met on 4 April 2022, during Ambassador Tai’s visit to Singapore on 4-5 April 2022.
2. Minister Iswaran and Ambassador Tai discussed and reaffirmed the importance of the bilateral economic and trade relationship between Singapore and the US. They had substantive discussions on possible ways to further strengthen and deepen the robust partnership through cooperation in a range of areas, including port connectivity enhancements to boost supply chain resilience. The meeting also discussed the importance of the US’ continued engagement of the region through the proposed Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
3. Singapore enjoys strong and longstanding relations with the US, underpinned by close people-to-people ties and robust economic links.
