Written Reply to Parliamentary Question

Mr Ng Shi Xuan asked the Minister for Transport whether the Government has information on (i) the number of batteries that are compatible with compliant active mobility devices as of 1 October 2026 and (ii) the number of manufacturers for such batteries. Note: The Member has given notice of his declaration of interest as a business owner of a battery company.

1.          The Land Transport Authority publishes lists of type-approved power-assisted bicycle models, and whitelisted motorised personal mobility device and mobility scooter models, together with their known compatible batteries. As of October 2026, there are 106 compatible battery models from 77 manufacturers.
