Singapore signs Joint Statement on Co-operation in Road Safety Activities with Germany

1. Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and the Ministry of Transport of Singapore, and Mr Steffen Bilger, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure of Germany (BMVI – Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur), signed a Joint Statement on co-operation in road safety activities on 22 November 2021 in Singapore.
2. The Joint Statement affirms the commitment of Singapore and Germany to work together to exchange information, share experiences, and explore cooperation on road safety activities of common interest. These include road accident prevention, road safety strategies, innovative transport projects, and interdisciplinary pilot projects on safe and sustainable urban mobility, e.g. automated driving.
3. Dr Khor and Mr Bilger also reaffirmed the longstanding and broad-based transport relations between Singapore and Germany. The Joint Statement will pave the way for deeper collaboration on safer roads for people of both countries.
