Singapore Signs Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services with Panama

1. Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Air Services with Panama on 24 October 2018. The MOU will enable the airlines of Singapore and Panama to operate any number of passenger and cargo services between both countries as well as beyond to any third country, with no restrictions on capacity, frequency, aircraft type, or routing.
2. The MOU was signed by Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Co-ordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport, Singapore and Mrs Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Panama.
3. Mr Khaw said, “We are very pleased to sign this Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services which will implement the Open Skies Agreement between Singapore and Panama. It demonstrates the close relations between our two countries and our commitment to strengthen our connectivity that would benefit trade, tourism, business and our people.”
4. Singapore adopts a liberal aviation policy, and continuously seeks to enhance its connectivity to the world, to support trade, investment, and tourism, and foster people-to-people and cultural links. With the implementation of the Singapore-Panama Open Skies Agreement, Singapore has concluded Air Services Agreements with more than 140 States and territories, of which over 70 are Open Skies Agreements.
