Statement in Response to Media Queries on Yeti Airlines Flight 691 Black Box

1.     Nepal’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Singapore’s Ministry of Transport signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation Relating to Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation in February 2020. The MOU covers the use of investigation facilities and equipment, including the flight recorder readout facility, training, and observer attachments. 

2.     At the request of the investigation authority in Nepal, MOT's Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) is supporting the Nepalese authority by helping to retrieve and readout the data from the flight recorders of Yeti Airlines Flight 691. This will be carried out in TSIB's flight recorder readout facility in Singapore which was set up in 2007.

3.     All investigation-related information, including the progress of investigations and the findings, will be handled by the Nepalese investigation authority.
