Mr Ng Shi Xuan asked the Minister for Transport in relation to electric vehicle (EV) charging points at petrol kiosks

a.          whether the Ministry tracks their utilisation rates by hour or time of day;

b.          if so, what are the average utilisation rates during peak and off-peak periods; and

c.         whether these usage patterns differ materially from EV charging points at public car parks.

Reply by Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow

1.          Usage of electric vehicle (EV) chargers at petrol kiosks generally peaks from 12pm to 8pm, with an average utilisation rate of about 35% in August and September 2026. Outside of these hours, average utilisation is about 21%.

2.          Usage patterns of EV chargers at petrol kiosks differ from those at HDB carparks, which generally peak from 7pm to 7am, with an average utilisation rate of about 36%. Outside of these hours, average utilisation is about 19%.
