Mr Ang Wei Neng asked the Minister for Transport how many workers who are currently receiving Workfare Income Supplement payments and are less than 60 years old (i) have a valid Workfare Transport Concession (WTC) Card and (ii) have not applied for a WTC card.

1. As of September 2026, there are approximately 216,000 commuters below age 60 who are eligible for the Workfare Transport Concession Scheme. This includes workers who received Workfare Income Supplement payments at any point during the past year, but who may not be actively receiving Workfare Income Supplement payments as of September 2026. Among them, there are approximately 108,000 Workfare Transport Concession cardholders.
2. To allow more eligible commuters to benefit from the concession, PTC will review whether to do away with the application process by automating it at the backend.
