Written Reply by Minister for Transport Ong Ye Kung to Parliamentary Question on Extension of Bus Service 983 to Cover Keat Hong Close

Mr Don Wee asked the Minister for Transport whether LTA will consider routing bus service 983 through Keat Hong Close as previously practised and, if not, what are the reasons for not doing so.

Reply by Minister for Transport Ong Ye Kung:

1.     There was no previous arrangement where Service 983 was stopping at bus stops along Keat Hong Close. LTA has studied the request carefully and decided not to amend Service 983, as doing so would result in a far larger number of commuters experiencing higher fares and longer travelling times on a daily basis. It will also require larger amounts of subsidies from the Government.
