Ms Mariam Jaafar asked the Minister for Transport
a. whether the Ministry has data on the (i) mean and (ii) median time between trips for private hire drivers and taxi drivers respectively; and
b. whether the data shows an increasing trend in the time between trips for both classes of drivers over the last three years.
Reply by Acting Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat:
1. Taxi and private hire car drivers choose their working hours and break times, and whether to accept bookings. As such, time between trips is not a meaningful indicator and is not tracked.
