Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang asked the Minister for Transport for the companies that LTA is engaging with in its study on transporting workers, what are the factors that contribute to these companies being able and open to shift from transporting workers on lorries to buses or other modes of transportation.
Reply by Acting Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat:
1. In our engagements, stakeholders have shared that some of their considerations include the availability of drivers and buses, regularity of the trips, distance of the destinations, and the number of workers to be transported for each trip.
