Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye asked the Minister for Transport 

a.     in the past five years, how many lightning strikes have resulted in train disruptions; and 

b.     given that Singapore has one of the highest lightning strike rates, what are the redundancies in the rail systems to help mitigate the impact of lightning strikes.
