Mr Chua Kheng Wee Louis asked the Minister for Transport in each year over the last 10 years including year-to-date, what is the breakdown in new car registrations by (i) private cars (ii) company cars (iii) private hire cars and (iv) others.
Reply by Acting Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat:
1. Over the past 10 years, there were on average about 44,000 new private cars registered a year, 3,000 company cars, 8,000 private hire cars, and 2,000 cars categorised as "others" which includes among others, off-peak and tax-exempt cars.
