Mr Christopher de Souza asked the Minister for Transport whether there are Government regulations on the pricing of airfares to ensure that Singapore citizens continue to afford airline tickets in the midst of increasing inflation rates and mounting airline prices.
Reply by Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat:
1. The Government does not regulate the pricing of airfares as there is sufficient market competition in the airline industry and airlines would set their airfares based on commercial considerations.
