a. whether the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore will be conducting a review of existing flight safety and ground control procedures at Changi Airport and Seletar Airport in light of recent unfortunate and tragic aviation incidents overseas; and
b. what additional measures are being considered to further enhance aviation safety in Singapore.
Reply by Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat:
1. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has an established safety framework based on international requirements and referencing best practices. It monitors aviation safety events around the world closely to glean any lessons that will enhance aviation safety in Singapore. CAAS will review the recent incidents for learning points when the relevant authorities release more information about these incidents.
