Written Reply to Parliamentary Questions on Measures to Ensure Singapore Remains Leading Aviation and Transportation Hub

Mr Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim asked the Minister for Transport what are the measures to ensure that Singapore will remain a leading aviation and transportation hub in light of the requirement for all flights departing from Singapore from 2026 to use sustainable aviation fuel.
Reply by Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat:
1. Our approach to build the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) ecosystem strikes a balance between economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability, to support the long-term growth of our air hub and encourage investments in new SAF production facilities.
2. The Member may wish to refer to the Sustainable Air Hub Blueprint published by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on 19 February 2024 for more details on our approach. The Blueprint is available on the CAAS’ website.
