600,000 Public Transport Vouchers Available to Provide Support for Lower- to Lower-Middle Income Households

1.     The Government recognises the concerns of many households over increasing costs of living amidst rising inflation. As such, the Government will again make available a total of 600,000 Public Transport Vouchers (PTVs), valued at $30 each, which can be used to top up fare cards or buy monthly concession passes. This is to provide support for lower- to lower-middle income households to cope with the fare adjustment that will take effect from 26 December 2022. 

2.     Similar to the 2021 PTV Exercise, this year’s PTV Exercise will cover resident households with monthly household income per person of not more than $1,600. 

3.     The PTVs will be disbursed in two stages this year. In the first stage of disbursement, households that received a voucher during the 2021 PTV Exercise and continue to meet the income eligibility criteria will automatically receive a PTV notification letter via post and need not apply. The notification letters will be sent to eligible households by end-December 2022. 

4.     Under the second stage, which will start from early 2023, households that meet the eligibility criteria but did not receive a voucher in the first stage can apply for PTVs online or in person at their local Community Centres/Clubs (CCs). Details on the second stage of application will be shared later.

5.     Upon receiving their PTV notification letter, households can follow the instructions on the letter to redeem their voucher at any TransitLink Kiosks, Top-Up Kiosks, Assisted Service Kiosks, TransitLink Ticket Offices or Concession Card Replacement Offices from 28 December 2022. All vouchers must be redeemed by 31 March 2024. Residents may approach their local CCs if they have any queries.
